Well Anti-fouling (Oil and Water)

Scaling is the precipitation of dense, adherent material on metal surfaces and other materials. Scaling is caused by the precipitation of metal oxides and hydroxides or scale-forming salts onto well screens or other key resource areas. Scale formation at oil and water producing well screens eventually results in lower yields and well failure. GBI has pioneered the development of an anti-fouling technology that reduces or prevents scale formation, deposition, corrosion and fouling.

U.S. Patent No. 6,244,346, Method and Apparatus for Reducing Fouling of Injection and Recovery Wells.
The reduction or prevention of scale formation, deposition, corrosion and fouling at key resource areas (oil and water production wells) using Butane Biostimulation Technologies™ and Butane-utilizing Bacteria™ are low-cost alternatives as compared with conventional treatment technologies. The process involves the injection of butane and air into an oil-bearing reservoir or water yielding aquifer, or the injection of butanated water or recirculation water containing dissolved butane and air into the key resource areas.

For water well applications, Butane Biostimulation Technologies™ are a low cost alternative to the Vyredox system.

For oilfield applications, Butane Biostimulation Technologies™ are a low cost alternative to the application of scale inhibitors such as bactericides, bacteristats, esters, phosphonates, and polyelectrolytes.
